Huawei’s first ever Windows Phone device just reached the Philippine archipelago today. Will this little budget Windows Phone be able to join the other brands on the smartphone race?

The first thing you’ll see on the front of the device is its 4″ IPS display, along with the front-facing camera on top beside the Huawei logo, and the typical Back, Start and, Search Windows Phone capacitive keys. Just like other Windows Phones, this phone comes in many colors – Blue, red and, black.

  • 4″ IPS Screen (480×800)
  • Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon 1.2GHz Dual-Core Processor
  • Adreno 305 GPU
  • 512MB RAM/4GB Internal Storage (expandable via microSD card)
  • 3G/HSDPA 21MBPS/WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/Bluetooth 2.1
  • 5MP Rear-facing Camera (720p Video Recording/VGA Front-facing Camera
  • GPS with aGPS, GLONASS
  • 1950mAh Li-On battery
  • Windows Phone 8 OS
  • Available in Red, Blue and Black colors
  • Php8,990

With that specs, Ascend W1 can easily beat Nokia’ s upcoming Lumia 520. Once it Lumia 520 is released, I will make a comparison between those two. Don’t get fooled by its brand being from China, because this phone has some wild battery life. Just be reminded that Temple Run on WP can’t be installed in this phone because TR and other HD games needs 1GB RAM to run your phone.
