It’s been a month since Microsoft introduced us Windows 10 as the next version of their flagship OS. It is also rumored that Windows 10 will replace the current Windows Phone OS.* But many Windows phone users ask today: “Will my phone receive the Windows 10 update?”
Someone already asked that question to Microsoft. And the official Microsoft Lumia* Twitter account responded that yes, it will be coming to their devices. Meaning that all current Lumia phones–whether Nokia- or Microsoft-branded–that runs on Windows Phone 8.x will receive the Windows 10 update.** If you are using a Windows smartphone from other manufacturers, like Cherry Mobile, it is up to them if they would release it.
Other than that, there were no other things that were revealed about Windows 10. But in this article we did learn two new things about it. (1) It will be available to Lumia devices running WP8 and up; (2) Microsoft confirmed that it will drop the “Phone” brand in their smartphone OS. Since the expected release date of Windows 10 is near, we should also expect for more info about it in the following months.
